Young children are absorbing their environments likes sponges, imitating all that they witness and hear, and can begin to display maladaptive behaviors and emotions as a result of not knowing how to communicate their feelings. They can act out in many different ways, especially if they have been traumatized due to abuse, neglect, grief and loss, divorce, school pressures, or family dysfunction. After building rapport, your child and I can work together to learn how to regulate their emotions through various child centered methods in order to be more successful in navigating their little worlds.
